About the Role:

As a Greeter Representative at our prestigious embassy, you will play a crucial role in shaping the first impressions of our visitors. This position offers a unique blend of responsibilities that make it both challenging and rewarding. You’ll be at the forefront of international relations, providing vital support in a vibrant and multicultural environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for visitors, representing the embassy with professionalism and warmth.
  • Efficiently manage visitor flow, guiding them to appropriate areas, ensuring a smooth and organized process.
  • Verify visitor identities and appointment details, maintaining a secure and seamless entry process.
  • Provide guidance and information to visitors in the waiting area, enhancing their overall experience.
  • Maintain order and calm in the entrance and exit areas, ensuring a pleasant environment for all visitors.
  • Stay alert to security situations, adhering to the embassy’s strict safety protocols.
  • Respond to emergencies and coordinate with supervisory staff, prioritizing the safety and security of visitors.
  • Assist with logistical tasks, including mail and document handling, under proper supervision and guidance.
  • Perform additional duties as needed, contributing to the embassy’s efficiency and image.

Contract Terms:

  • Full-time role: 42 hours per week, 5 days a week.
  • Initial contract of 12 months, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Ideal for individuals who have recently completed a commercial apprenticeship or are recent graduates High School or university students.
  • Fluent in English and German (min. B2-Level) with excellent communication skills.
  • Customer service-oriented with a commitment to providing a positive experience for visitors.
  • Capable of working effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • A team player with a respect for diversity and cultural sensitivity.
  • Working Permit in Switzerland is a must.

To support the Visa Application Centers in Bern, May Consulting is currently looking for a highly motivated, talented for languages and independent person who can start working as soon as possible.

The office is located right in the city centre at the embassy with excellent Public Transport opportunities around.

Working hours: 40 hours / 7am to 4pm from Monday to Friday

Holiday: 5 Weeks or more depending on your age

Areas of responsibility:

  • Processing applications and data entry
  • Collection and scrutiny of passports from the Application Centre
  • Handover of Passports to the High commission and/or its Consulates.
  • Handover of passports to Courier/Applicants
  • Handover of passports to post office
  • Handling of postal applications
  • Scanning and uploading of documentation
  • Tracking of passports
  • Handling customer queries in person, by email and on the telephone
  • Fee collection and cash handling
  • Preparing reports for day to day transactions

Ihr Profil

  • Abgeschlossene Lehre als Gebäudetechnikplaner/in Sanitär EFZ
  • Mindestens 5 Jahre Berufserfahrung
  • Eine abgeschlossene Weiterbildung als dipl. Sanitärtechniker/in HF wäre ein Plus
  • Ausgezeichnete Fachkenntnisse in den CAD- und PC-Anwenderprogrammen
  • Sehr gute Deutschkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
